Day #47 PTH Parathyroid hormone acts to increase bone resorption of calcium and phosphate. It also increases kidney resorption of calcium in the DCT while decreasing resorption of phosphate. 1,25 OH2 vitamin D production is increased via 1 alpha hydroxylase. The net effect is increased serum calcium, urine phosphate, and decreased serum phosphate.
